Solenoid Valves are used on surge activated disc & drum brake systems. They keep the brakes from locking while backing up in reverse

Backup Solenoid Valve normally CLOSED 1/8" NPTF inlet 1/8" NPTF outlet. Backup Solenoid Valve normally OPEN 3/16" FIF inlet, 1/8" NPTF outlet, 3/16" female inverted flare. Tie Down Backup Solenoid Valve normally OPEN includes return tube.

 

Drum to Disc Brake Help
 

Unlike drum brakes, disc brakes generate full baking power in reverse.  If your actuator does not have a reverse lock out lever or switch, a reverse lockout solenoid (part# 52-BASV-NO) should be installed at the actuator.   Note: Flexible brake lines are required.
